NexGen Networks Expands into Equinix Datacenter Toronto

NexGen Networks, a leading global provider of ultra high-speed fiber-optic services with a distinctive customer service approach, today announced NexGen’s expansion into the Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) datacenter in Toronto, TR2. The new addition provides NexGen clients with greater-than-ever connectivity to some of the most important financial network and cloud services providers in Canada.

“Toronto has ascended to the top ten of the Global Financial Centres Index, and the Equinix facility boasts a dense colocation of financial services, exchanges, and enterprises,” says Edward Lawson, SVP of Business Development at NexGen Networks. “NexGen’s expansion in Equinix Toronto therefore creates tremendous opportunities for high-speed, scalable, and reliable industry cross-connections for our clients, ultimately making the time to market connectivity almost trivial.”

Toronto is one of the largest financial, networking, and cloud computing hubs in the world and continues to be a critical NexGen Point of Presence. NexGen’s new PoP at the Equinix TR2 facility provides direct access to the Equinix trading ecosystem in Canada, including the primary matching engines for Nasdaq, Omega and the Canadian Securities Exchange (together accounting for greater than 30% of the market).

In addition, the adjacent Equinix TR1 facility houses the TORIX Internet Exchange, a major peering and Internet exchange point for the Asia-Pacific region with connections to the Japan’s two largest financial exchanges—the Tokyo Futures Exchange (TFX) and the Tokyo Commodities Exchange (TOCOM).

NexGen continues to actively improve and expand its North American network in order to maintain its position of merit in the industry. NexGen takes pride in establishing services in world-class facilities in the most important business hubs in the region and around the world, building without sacrificing customer service, speed, security or reliability.
